Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 29, 1864 he entered the Passionist novitiate there and professed his vows on November 21, 1885. For most of his years as a Passionist brother he was a tailor and infirmarian. At other times he worked as the porter at the front monastery office. In 1926, at 62 years old, he was one of the volunteers of the western province to go the German foundation. He worked there for five years. There he instructed the novice brothers in various skills and inspired them by his example. He died in Union City, New Jersey after he had completed his assignment in Germany and was coming back to his home province.
