Born John R. Kelly on December 29 1876 in Washington, Pennsylvania he was the son of Charles Kelly and Mary Daly. Two of his brothers were Passionists. Father Fabian Kelly was in Holy Cross Province. Brother Gabriel Kelly was in St. Paul of the Cross Province. Brother Kelly was professed at St. Paul’s Monastery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 2, 1896 and took the religious name Edmund. After the 1906 split into eastern and western provinces, Brother Edmund remained in the eastern province. As brother he was a cook, tailor and infirmarian for fifty-six years. He died on September 13, 1952.
