Born February 7, 1923 he professed his vows on September 6, 1958. He was a native of Hungry Hill, the Irish immigrant region of Springfield, Massachusetts. He entered the military service and was at the Battle of Bulge during World War II in Europe. In his later years as a Passionist he resided at the West Springfield, Massachusetts monastery and was forever taking continual education courses at the University of Massachusetts and other institutions. He loved western and eastern philosophy as well as the writings of St. Paul of the Cross. He was known to be a free spirit.
