Born on April 12, 1871 in New Boston, Ohio he was the son of Henry and Sarah Cullinan. At 18 years of age he entered the Passionist novitiate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He professed his vows on February 8, 1890. He always said that he entered religious life through the dying prayer of his older sister. He met the Passionists at his home parish church and upon their advice he applied to the Congregation. As a Passionist he was a cook. He was a sound sleeper and was distressed if he was not awakened for prayer at 2 A.M. He was also clean and exact. He helped as a tailor and with the coal in his later years. He died of uremia and a weak heart in St. John’s Hospital, St. Louis on October 26, 1916.
