Born Michael Szedlay on October 19, 1879 in Veraglia, Hungary he first entered a Franciscan Monastery. He later left the Franciscans and came to the United States. He worked for a short time and then entered the Passionist novitiate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was professed on May 27, 1910. He worked in various Passionist ministries as a lay-brother. After a bout with cancer he died in Union City, New Jersey.
