Born Charles Tansey on November 24, 1884 in Watervliet, New York, he was the son of Patrick Tansey and Mary Jane Nooth. He professed his vows on October 6, 1907 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His religious name was Stanislaus. He was a cook in most of the monasteries where he lived. Later he worked in maintenance. He died at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Brighton. He had been ill for a long time and had been a part of the infirmary community at St. Gabriel’s Monastery.
