Born July 25, 1888, he professed his vows on March 7, 1905 and was ordained on December 21, 1912 by Bishop O’Connor of Newark, New Jersey. He was an assistant pastor at St. Michael’s Parish, West Hoboken, New Jersey and then went to Brighton, Massachusetts as a preacher of parish missions. He was a military chaplain in World War I and was assigned to the 129th Infantry of the 33rd Division. He was rector at St. Ann’s Monastery, Scranton, Pennsylvania and then St. Joseph’s Monastery, Baltimore, Maryland and then rector again at Scranton. He also was superior of the foundation at Riverdale, New York.
