Born Edward Shalvey on May 6, 1905 in Richmond Hill, New York, he professed his vows on February 15, 1930 and was ordained on April 10, 1933. Among his assignments he was assistant pastor of St. Ann’s Parish, Normandy, Missouri; he was an auxiliary military chaplain in the Army, and was a retreat preacher. He also was an assistant pastor of St. Aloysius Parish, Detroit, Michigan. He died as a resident of Daneo Hall, Chicago, Illinois.
