Born George Taylor on July 13, 1859 in New York City, he professed his Passionist vows on April 5, 1880. His religious name was Casimir. He was ordained on October 28, 1885. His first assignment was pastor at St. Mary’s Church, Dunkirk, New York in 1887. At that time he was the only priest in a parish which included all the towns from Dunkirk to Jamestown to Warren to Angola, New York. He was instrumental in the development of St. Joseph’s Orphanage for Boy’s in Dunkirk. He also enlarged St. Mary’s School and renovated a number of churches in his area. He then served as pastor and rector at Normandy, Missouri. He also rebuilt St. Michael’s School, Union City, New Jersey.
