Born Jack Schweinberg on October 22, 1920. He professed his vows on August 15, 1942 and was ordained on May 4, 1949. From 1950 until 1953 he was a preacher of missions and retreats and novenas in Union City, New Jersey; 1953 until 1958 he was teaching speech and writing to Passionist students as well as preacher at the novena and director of the summer camp, St. Michael, Bear Mountain, New York; 1957 until 1960 director of Passionist students; 1962 until 1967, co-founder of Our Lady of Florida Retreat, North Palm Beach, Florida; 1967 until 1968 retreat maser at Cardinal Spellman Retreat, Riverdale, New York; 1968 until 1981 director of Radio program “Crossroads and the T.V. program “Chalice of Salvation” at West Springfield, Massachusetts; from 1981 until 1991 he was Province Director of Communications; from 1984 until 1990 he was vicar at Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, from 1990 until 1991 was secretary for the ministry of preaching in the Province. He served as a consultor to the U.S. Catholic Conference, Division of Film and Broadcast; Producer, NBC Religious and Public Affairs, the Mission Advisory Board, and was Springfield, Massachusetts Diocesan Director of Radio and T.V.
