Born February 12, 1902, he entered the Passionist Preparatory School, Baltimore Maryland. and was among the first class to go to Holy Cross Prep in Dunkirk, New York. He professed his vows on August 15, 1922 and was ordained on May 25, 1929. He was director of students after ordination. and then professor of theology. Later he taught at the Prep seminary in Dunkirk and was rector there as well. He was a member of The Sign Magazine staff and was the editor of Current Fact and Comment and editorials on the Labor Movement, McCarthyism, Korea, the Cold War and Nuclear Disarmament. He was a professor of sacred eloquence as well.
