Born Michael Galvin in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he professed his vows on March 24, 1911 and received the religious name Denis. He was ordained on June 14, 1919. He battled tuberculosis which eventually took his life. He served as an assistant pastor at St. Joseph’s Parish, Union City, New Jersey and worked as a promoter for The Sign magazine. Because of the tuberculosis his last days were spent upstate in a sanitarium.
