Born September 22, 1911 in Cleveland, Ohio, he professed his vows on July 30, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky and was ordained on June 3, 1939 in the same city at the Cathedral. After ordination he went for a year of sacred eloquence in Cincinnati, Ohio. After that he was assigned to Des Moines, Iowa to prepare for his ministry as a preacher of parish missions. His mentor was Father Alexander Kilgour, C.P. At this time he was also a preacher for Sign Magazine. He resided in Chicago,Illinois and visited various parishes during the summer. He continued this ministry well into the 1960s. He also resided in Detroit, Michigan; Louisville; Birmingham, Alabama; and for a short time in Sierra Madre, California. From 1943 until 1978 he was a preacher of parish missions throughout the Midwest and the South.
