Born September 7 1896 on Mount Adams, Cincinnati, Ohio, he attended Immaculata School for three years and then completed his elementary education at St. Xavier Grade School and later commercial school even as he received a degree in the wood pattern making trade at the Woodward school. At twenty years old he entered the Passionist monastery on Mount Adams. He professed his vows May 4, 1919 after which his theological studies included time at Louisville, Kentucky, St. Paul, Kansas, and Chicago, Illinois. He was ordained on February 27, 1927. Soon he was appointed Director of Students. As time went on he served the province as an assistant superior and superior. In 1950 he was elected superior of Holy Cross Monastery, Cincinnati and held the post for six years. From 1956 to 1968 he was pastor of Holy Family Church, Birmingham, Alabama and later was an assistant superior at several monasteries before he retired in Houston, Texas.
