Born July 20, 1914, he was the son of Albert and Mary Mullen Does in Winthrop, Massachusetts. He went to the public schools there and after two years at Boston College he entered the Passionists. He professed his vows on August 15, 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was ordained on February 27, 1943 at St. Michael’s Monastery, Union City, New Jersey. From 1944 until 1946 he was spiritual director of Passionist seminarians in Jamaica, New York and from 1946 until 1953 was a missionary in Hunan, China where he was in prison. In 1953 he returned to the United States and in 1955 he was associate pastor at St. Gabriel’s, Brighton, Massachusetts. In 1958 he was assigned to the Philippines. He died at Brooks Hospital, Brookline, Massachusetts where he had been ill for a month.
