Born August 15, 1896 in New York City, he went to Cathedral College. From there he went to the Passionist Preparatory Seminary, Baltimore, Maryland. After completion of this course he proceeded on to the Passionist novitiate, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he professed his vows on September 18, 1918. He was ordained June 14, 1924 and was assigned to Pittsburgh were he was given charge of the St. Gabriel Novena. He helped develop this devotion. He also lived in Union City, New Jersey.
