Born January 23, 1898 in Glasgow, Scotland, his parents were Irish. He left studies at Oxford University, England and joined the British Royal Air Force during World War I. At the end of the war he went into business for several years. He entered the Passionists in Louisville, Kentucky in 1927. He professed his vows on August 1, 1928 and was ordained on June 6, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa. From 1947 until 1950 he was vice-rector at Holy Cross Monastery, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was also assigned to Detroit, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois. After1958 he was a member of the community at Sierra Madre, California. He was found dead in the monastery chapel where he had gone to pray.
