Born March 13, 1910, he professed his vows on August 15, 1930 and was ordained on May 22, 1937. He was a professor of Philosophy for many years in the Passionist Seminary and left that position in 1967. He served as Dean of the Passionist Monastic Seminary and teacher of ethics at Mt. St. Vincent College, Adult Education at the Diocese of Brooklyn Labor School. He taught religion at Delehanty High School in Queens, New York. He was involved in the preaching ministry and conducted retreats. He often was a visiting Sunday priest at St. James, Seaford, New York. Known commonly as JJ, in his later years he oversaw the building facility at Jamaica, New York. He was a constant visitor to those in the hospital. He himself was always proper and well-dressed. He had a precision of life that was as ordered as the Summa of St. Thomas Aquinas.
