Born April 14, 1915, he professed his Passionist vows on August 15, 1936 and was ordained on February 27, 1943. Assigned to Hunan, China after ordination, he was imprisoned by the Chinese Communists from 1951 until 1955. Involvement with the United States Department of State was required for his release. In 1958 he was assigned to the Philippines. In the 1980s he returned to the United States and ministered in Washington state. His last years were spent as a member of Passionist community in Jamaica, New York.
