Born June 4, 1877 in Liverpool, England his family came to the United States in 1889 when he was twelve. He took his Passionist vows on October 28, 1893. He was Rector of St. Mary’s Monastery, Dunkirk, New York for one term and twice Rector of St. Michael’s, Union City, New Jersey. Twice he served as a Vicar. He was pastor of St. Ann’s, Scranton, Pennsylvania, St. Mary’s, Dunkirk, and St. Michael’s, Union City. He was a preacher as well. He was in charge of the construction of Holy Cross Seminary, Dunkirk and planned the construction for the new chapel. In 1953 he went to Holy Cross where he was active in the wood shop during these retirement years. He moved around in an electric wheel chair. He was a dynamic presence during the Seminary Weeks that were held in Dunkirk. He died at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk and was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery.
