Born on January 9, 1912 he professed his Passionist vows on July 30, 1931 and was ordained on June 3, 1939 at Assumption Cathedral, Louisville, Kentucky. During his early years he was a preacher of youth retreats and missions especially in the Des Moines, Iowa and Chicago, Illinois area. In 1945 he underwent brain surgery for removal of a tumor. His life was saved but there was a slight paralysis that continued throughout the remaining years of his life. He then spent many years in Detroit, Michigan where he consoled and counseled many who were on retreat or came to the monastery. He then was assigned to the mission apostolate, Birmingham, Alabama and at the monastery in Louisville. He then resided at St. Joseph’s Infirmary, Eureka, Missouri from 1963 until the time of his death.
