Born February 4, 1920 in Cicero, Illinois he met the Passionists at St. Anthony’s Parish. In 1934 he and his twin brother went to the Passionist Preparatory School, Normandy, Missouri. From there he went to the Passionist novitiate, St. Paul’s, Kansas and professed his vows on July 7, 1941. He was ordained on June 28, 1947 by Archbishop Floersch of Louisville, Kentucky He served as a navy chaplain at the Marine Base, Rhode Island. After years as a chaplain he served as a chaplain to the Sisters of Charity, Mount St. Joseph, Cincinnati, Ohio. In the late 1980s an appeal went out for priests to serve in the larger parishes in the Archdiocese of Detroit. Father Pechculis responded and commuted between St. Sebastian’s Church, Dearborn and the Detroit, Michigan monastery. His twin brother was the Father John Baptist Pechulis.
