Born on February 21, 1894 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he entered the Passionist Preparatory Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland in August 1912. In 1913 he went to the novitiate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He professed his vows on May 5, 1914. He was ordained a priest in Boston by Cardinal O’Connell on January 21, 1923. Father Maguire was considered a gifted student. He was asked to go to Argentina. Then he was asked to minister in Michigan. He lived alone and served the people of Painesdale, Michigan for eight years. He was considered a candid, honest man.
He died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hancock, Michigan on September 12, 1937.
