Born October 28, 1908, he professed his Passionist vows on September 4, 1928 and was ordained on April 28, 1934. He was a professor of Sacred Scripture in the Passionist seminary and a member of The Catholic Biblical Association of America. He was a hospital chaplain for thirty-four years at Bon Secours Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. He lived in the Baltimore Passionist community. Everyone in the Passionists knew him as “Smokey.” In his final years he was an associate retreat director at the retreat house, Jamaica, New York.
