Born July 18, 1894 in Chicago, Illinois, he entered the Passionists and professed his vows on June 1, 1914 in Louisville, Kentucky. Except for one year in student life, 1918 until 1919 in St. Paul, Kansas, he spent all his years before ordination in Chicago. He was ordained on August 14, 1921. He was a preacher of parish missions and retreats until he became a military chaplain in the Navy at the end of World War II. After he was released from the Navy, illness prevented him from once again becoming an active preacher. Instead he did a variety of local assignments. In early June 1958 he was taken from the Passionist retreat in Houston, Texas to St. Joseph’s Infirmary in the same city. It was there that he died.
