Born Patrick Wynn in Keene, New Hampshire on September 8, 1905, when he was ten his family moved to Lowell, Massachusetts where he attended Xaverian High School, Boston College High School, Boston and then Holy Cross College, Dunkirk, New York. He professed his vows on August 15, 1927 in West Springfield, Massachusetts. After study at Brighton, Massachusetts, Union City, New Jersey and Baltimore, Maryland he was ordained on June 15, 1933 by Archbishop Michael Curley. He was director of students; chaplain for the Passionist nuns, Scranton, Pennsylvania; assistant pastor, St. Michael’s Parish, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; vicar at Brighton; rector at St. Mary’s Monastery, Dunkirk and St. Joseph’s Monastery, Baltimore. He kept up a large correspondence among which was with band leader Lawrence Welk. Confined to a wheel chair in his later years he loved to concelebrate. His last assignments were in Brighton and Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
