Canonized on June 3, 2007 in Saint Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City by Pope Benedict XVI, his feast day recalls the day his death on Janaury 5, 1893. Over those yearss, as local people of Dublin, Ireland shared their burden of suffering with him, his prayerful compassionate response led to healings that made St. Paul’s Retreat Mount Argus Monastery at Harold’s Cross, Dublin a destination for religious pilgrims of all backgrounds. This site in his honor contnues draws those devotees who come in person. Now a whole new generation have learned of him through social media.
